Tango Energy is an energy company under the management of Pacific Hydro. This company offers both gas and electrical services and is known for its excellent management.
Tango Energy’s main base of operations is located in North Geelong, Victoria. This company’s team is Victorian-based and, most importantly, has won awards for their stellar service.
Although based out of North Geelong, Tango Energy also offers its services to other areas. More specifically, they have electrical services for both NSW and VIC and gas line services for VIC.
What Plans Does Tango Energy Offer?
This company has four main plans: Tango Blue, Home Select, Everyday Basic, and Gas Select. Each plan has different projected costs based on whether the customer chooses electrical, gas, or both.
1. Tango Blue
Tango Blue promises a 100% renewable electrical service. This is a tad more expensive than the other Tango plans but is well worth the extra cost. Annual costs vary from area to area. To give you an idea of the expense range, an example with Geelong average prices is shown below:

2. Home Select

3. Everyday Basic

4. Gas Select
This is a gas-only plan that is available in Victoria. In Geelong, the estimated annual cost for this plan is $1,180.
Take note that prices vary from area to area, and the rates shown above are only samples for Geelong. Don’t expect the rates to differ by a huge margin between areas – most prices still vary but not by much. Regardless, the numbers above should give customers a decent idea of the costs to expect.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Going for Tango Energy
A Tango subscription has advantages and disadvantages. Some of the advantages include the following:
- Renewable assets
Tango commits to providing renewable energy – most of their assets are renewable, and emissions are close to none. As proof, some of their recent projects are the Haughton Solar Farm in QLD and The Crowlands Wind Farm in VIC.
- Customer portal
Tango’s customer portal provides some quality-of-life features. Viewing customer information and paying bills are easily done online as a result.
- 12 months fixed rate
The first 12 months feature a fixed rate for customers. This should help new customers lessen energy costs.
One disadvantage, however, is the following:
- Limited options for solar
The company only caters to existing solar installations for the solar tariff. They don’t do new installations for solar panels.
